Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery Centre

A laparoscopy allows a physician to see within the pelvis and abdomen. A laparoscope, which is a thin, flexible tube with a light and a tiny video camera on the end, is used for this. A little incision is made in the abdominal wall close to the navel (belly button) to insert the tube. To insert additional instruments, it may also be necessary to make a second or third incision in different abdominal regions. Keyhole or minimally invasive surgery are other names for laparoscopy. This test is performed to examine an aberrant area seen on an imaging test (e.g., a pelvic tumour) or to seek for reasons of symptoms like pelvic pain. This is a basic summary of what usually takes place before, during, and following a laparoscopy. However, depending on the reason for the test, the location of the test, and your general health, your experience may vary slightly. Before doing this test, make sure to discuss any concerns you may have with your healthcare provider. This will allow you to be prepared and ask any questions you may have.
